Highlights
The Laya-Lingzhi trek is one of the most formidable adventurous treks recommended for experienced trekkers. The journey takes you through the beautiful alpine region of Laya and Lingshi with spectacular breath-taking close-up views of some of the world’s highest peaks such as Mt. Jumolhari, Mt. Jechu Drake and Mt. Tsherim Gang (6780 m). Trails through Laya and Lingshi communities provide a great deal of cultural interests of pastoral farmers (at 4000 m) who live in the shadows of those towering peaks. Their hospitality is intense and warmly welcoming. They are rarely visited by outsiders.  The trail passes through wildlife habitats of endangered animal species such as Snow Leopard, Blue Sheep, Raven and Blue Poppy, our national flower. Locals here at this altitude harvest Cordycep Sinenses, a rare caterpillar of high medicinal value used for health tonics.
