This is a short 8 days trek in Thimphu which opens up to a large number of gorgeous high altitude lakes popularly known as Dagala Thousand lakes trek. It is 29km drive from Thimphu and diverges uphill to the take-off point. Villagers in this region collect and sell wild matsutake and chanterelle mushrooms.

Trails mostly lead through lush green forests and apple orchards of the Genekha community touching the highest point 4,240 meters offering a spectacular view of the whole Dagala range. Going further takes you through several yak herders’ camps en-route the broad labatamba valley at 4,050 meters.  Clear lakes teeming with brown trouts, different shades of wild alpine flowers, wild pheasants and musk deer prevail.


DAY 1 : Arrive in Paro by Drukair and transfer to Genekha  (1 hr.).
DAY 2 : Trek Genekha to Lower Labatam (9 km, 4-5 hrs.).
DAY 3 : Labatama (4 -5 hrs.).
DAY 4 : Halt in Labatama.
DAY 5 : Trek Labatama to Panka (8 km, 4 hours).
DAY 6 : Talekha (8 km, 4 hours).
DAY 7 : Thimphu.
DAY 8 : Drive to Paro airport for your onward journey to Bangkok/Delhi or Kathmandu.

Additional US$30 surcharge per pax per night for smaller groups with one to two pax.

Covers 3 meals plus 2 refreshments per day, lodge in hotels on twin-sharing basis for 3 and 4 star hotels, a resourceful licensed guide, all entry fees, local transport in suv cars/coaches, flight reservation and all taxes.

Exclude: Air tickets, visa fee (US$40), expenses on medical emergencies and evacuations, liabilities due to cancellation of flights, roadblock, etc.; personal expenses, or any supplemental costs.
