Highlights
This is the most popular medium level trek in Bhutan due to its easy access, beautiful terrain and spectacular views of the majestic snow capped mountains and beautifully located camp sites only very few countries can boast off.  Jhomolhari which means the beautiful mountain goddess Jhumo is believed to be one of the most beautiful and impressive mountains in the entire Himalayan region.

Located at the north-western border with Tibet, the trek to the base camp of this dome shaped mountain provides an opportunity to experience the panoramic views of some of the world’s highest peaks. Further, you also see abundant wildlife: blue sheep, takin, Himalayan marmot and also elusive snow leopard and a variety of birds. You can also visit and interact with friendly nomadic people and visit some of their houses.

Brief itinerary:

Day 1  : Drukair to Paro from either Delhi / Bangkok / Kathmandu / Kolkotta.
Day 2  : Brief walks in Paro valley to acclimatize to the altitude.
Day 3  : Drive to Drukgyel (25 min.) and trek to Shana (15kms, 6 hrs).
Day 4  : Thangthangka (22kms, 8  hrs).
Day 5  : Jangothang (17kms, 5-6 hrs).
Day 6  : Halt at Jangothang base camp.    
Day 7  : Trek Jangothang to Lingzhi (18kms, 6-7 hrs).
Day 8  : Shodu (22 kms, 8-9 hrs).
Day 9  : Barshong (16 kms,  5-6 hrs).
Day 10 : Dolam Kencho (15 kms, 5-6 hrs).
Day 11 : Trek Dolam Kencho to Thimphu (18kms, 7- 8 hrs).
Day 12 : Drive Thimphu to Paro to catch Drukair to either Delhi/Bangkok/Kathmandu/or  Kolkatta.
