Bhutan has over 72% under forest cover.  Its’ rich forests harbour an estimated 770 species of birds. The Himalayan Griffon, the unique high altitude Wader, the Ibis bill, the spectacular Hornbill, Barbets, Sunbirds, Fulvettas, Yuhinas, Cuckoos, Thrushes, Swifts are few notable examples.

Bhutan has more than 28 species, of internationally endangered birds. These are Pallas Fish Eagle, White-bellied Heron, Satyr Tragopan, Grey Belied Tragopan, Ward’s Tragopan, Blyth’s Kingfisher, Yellow rumped Honeyguide, Rufous throated Wren Babbler, Red-headed Parrotbill, Chestnut-breasted  Partridge, Ward’s Trogon, Wood Snipe, Dark rumped Swift, Grey-crowned Prinia and the beautiful Nuthatch, all of which breed in Bhutan.

Tour brief:

Day 01-03                   : Arrive in Paro and Sightseeing (2200 m altitude)
Day 04 - 05                 : Drive Paro to Punakha & Sightseeing (1200 –1300 m) – 133 km
Day 06-07                   : Drive to Phobjikha & Sightseeing (2900 m) – 88 km.
Day 08 -09                  : Drive to Trongsa for birding along the strech before Kuenga Rabten palace (1700m) – 120 km
Day 10-12                   : Drive Trongsa to Yongkola (208 km), one of the best birding spot in whole of South Asia.
Day 13                        : Drive Yongkola to Trashigang (3 hrs.) – 120 km
Day 14                        : Drive Trashigang to S/Jongkhar (6 hrs.) – 189 Km
Day 15                        : Drive to Guwahati airport (2 hrs.) – 115 km
