Being one of the least studied protected areas in Bhutan, Sakteng is like a “lost world” of biodiversity, waiting to be discovered.  It is an important habitat to endangered species such as musk deer, Red Panda, Himalayan black bear, Red Fox to name few. The mysterious mythical “Abominable Snowman” (Yet) is believed to reside in the sanctuary. Bird species recorded so far has been 119 including 7 species of pheasants - Snow patridge, Hill patridge, Rufous throated patridge, Blood pheasants, Himalayan monal pheasants and Satyr tragopan.Discover its natural haven and be one of the first group to share its experience with others.
